The Lost Treasure of the Nazis Gold

Ever since the Second World War had ended people began wondering what had happened to the lost treasure of Hitler’s Gold which the Nazis’ had managed to stash away, somewhere in the Bavaria Alps outback. The story goes that wagons loaded with gold bullion, money and priceless art collections were loaded on to trucks and taken to Berlin. From there the priceless cargo was then transported to a small village called Garmisch in Bavaria. Eye witness accounts testified they had seen a stream of mules and soldiers being led away to a wilderness area somewhere in densely wooded area of the Bavaria Alps. And that is the very last time the soldiers or mules were ever seen again. So what happened to the gold one might ask?

Meanwhile, our story takes place in a pub in the Finchley area of London, whereby two friends were having a few drinks after doing a hard day’s work. Peter and Richard had been lifelong pals for the best part of their lives. They had this regular thing going for them on a routine basis. Work all week; do the odd bit of overtime, then it was down to the pub on Friday night for a few beers and to catch up on all the week’s events. Fortunately, the two lads had very good jobs as researchers for well-known software company in London, and like all young men they liked doing the usual sort of things associated in life, such as girls, football and pubs. However, their great passion in life was Archeology, and, having been on several digs throughout the UK they found it got quite infectious. This interest of theirs (archeology) will have a strong bearing on our story.

As the night wore on inside the Bull and Bush pub, a mysterious stranger who was sitting over on the next table, and I must say looking rather subdued, began to them the evil eye. Unannounced, the stranger decides to join the two lads by parking his large framed rump right next to theirs. He looked a decent enough chap I would say, but he also had a look of sternness about him. For a moment there was a deadly hush till finally the stranger broke his silence. In a strong German accent he introduced himself as Karl who hailed from Heidelberg in Germany. Once the ice had been broken, and, after exchanging pleasantries, intermingled with a few more drinks, Karl said he was here in London on very important business. However, the discussion that was about to follow would get more and more intense.

“Perhaps I should let you two guys in, as to why I am here? Karl took a deep breath and began. “Well, first of all what I am about to reveal to you must be kept in the strictest confidence. Furthermore, I must ask you never to repeat what I am about to say.” Karl forcefully said.

“Right, I’ll start from the very beginning. You see the reason I came to London was the fact that my uncle died two weeks ago.
